My name is David Buckle. I received my degree of Music Education from the Berklee College of Music. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters in Music Education from Rutgers University. I come from a big family with a lot of musical background. My father, who is also a Berklee alumni, has given me lessons on the trumpet since I was Nine years old. Even though I am classically trained by other teachers, I feel more comfortable playing Lead Trumpet in a big band or a jazz/ rock setting. I was inspired to play lead trumpet by my father and Maynard Ferguson, my favorite trumpeter of all time.
I was influenced by some of my previous music teachers to follow through into getting my degree in Music Education. Another role model of mine, George N. Parks, showed me how some people need to be an influence for others and help them grow their passion for what they love; in my case it is music. During summers, I give private lessons and some music theory lessons for 1st - 12th graders in New Jersey. I was also involved with the Berklee city music Program and gave private lessons and taught theory classes throughout the school year. I am Currently a Instrumental Music Teacher for the Old Bridge Board of Education.
Some of the prestigious trumpeters I have had the privilege to have lessons with during my time at Berklee were Charles Lewis, Jeff Stout, Bobby Gallegos, Greg Hopkins, and Lin Biviano. I played lead trumpet and played as a soloist for the Boston College "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band and Their Jazz ensemble BC bOp, as a partner school member. I have also performed in a few ensembles with the Boston Conservatory. Some various Berklee Ensembles I have partaken in was in various small jazz ensembles, Big Band ensembles, Salsa Ensemble, James Brown Ensemble, and the Berklee Symphonic winds where I have also done my student conducting internship. During the fall seasons of 2014 and 2015, I have performed in concert with the Boston Pops and had the privilege of playing with the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015. I was in a student run band called Chamber Groove Company (CGC). Our first album was released May 27th entitled "Enigma". Our Band was also the main feature for the Merger of schools between Berklee College of Music and The Boston Conservatory.
I student taught at Arlington High school focusing on their Jazz band, concert band, Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra and Honors Orchestra where I also arranged most of their music for concerts. I also student Taught at Bigelow Middle School focusing on Jazz band, Concert band, Orchestra, and general music and helped influence music technology into the curriculum.
I used to perform in and out of the Jersey Shore scene. I was with a few groups named "challenged X-Cepted" and "Friend Zone" as a horn player and Sound Technician. I have been a part of several community concert bands, orchestras, and Jazz Bands. I now play part time in various pit ensembles throughout all of New Jersey. As well as gigging, I was an Instrument Repair Technician With Dillion Music of Woodbridge, New Jersey. I was the Assistant Band Director, Brass Tech Head, Arranger, color guard instructor and later the Interim Band Director for the Manasquan Warrior Marching Band. I am an Alumni to the Manasquan School district.
I am now a Grammy Nominated Instrumental Music Teacher within the Old Bridge Township Public School system working with 6th Grade Band, 7/8th Grade Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, and one of the Co-Directors for a brand new Indoor Percussion Program for middle school students. I will also be working with the Old Bridge High School Marching Band and leading their Jazz Program.
